The kickoff Zoom, your build workflow, and the kill switch
Ava's playbook · read before every trialEverything you build for a Speed Launch client lives on YOUR infrastructure. Your Meta Business Manager, your ad account, your Zuops sub-account, your landing page, your Zuops phone number, your creative. The client's only real Meta asset in the loop is their Facebook Page, which they grant you Partner access to so the ads run branded as their business.
Because you own the whole stack, you never have to log into their Meta account. You never touch their billing. You never need their password. And when a trial ends without conversion, the kill switch is trivial · you turn things off on your side and revoke Page access. Clean exit, no fights.
That's it. No ad account access. No billing access. No pixel access (you install a fresh one on the LP you build). No admin roles on their Business Manager.
This is the single most important distinction to keep straight. Speed Launch trials run on Zuops with its built-in AI · which handles first-message reply, auto-nurture sequences, appointment booking, and reminders out of the box. It's free with the sub-account and configurable in about 15 minutes.
AIVY is a 14-day custom build that lives on top of GHL, spans 7 channels with cross-channel memory, and is only included on Standard + AIVY and Premium tiers. It cannot be included in Speed Launch · the trial IS 14 days, which is exactly the AIVY build window. If a Speed Launch client asks about AIVY, the answer is: "AIVY is part of the Growth conversation on Day 14 · during the trial we use our CRM's built-in AI which is already booking appointments for you."
The kickoff Zoom is a 60 to 75 minute call that happens the same day payment lands (or first business day after). It has three phases:
The reason you do access LIVE on the Zoom is because 90% of Day 2 delays are because the client "will do it later" and doesn't. If you don't finish access on this call, ads don't go live tomorrow.
Do not end the Zoom until Facebook Page Partner access is granted. If they can't find their password or their page isn't claimed, you STAY ON THE CALL and troubleshoot. This is not a "we'll circle back" moment. Every hour of delay eats into their 14-day trial and hurts their conversion odds.
24 hours before the Zoom, send a prep email with three things:
Business basics, service area zip codes, average job value, offer wording, qualification criteria. If they fill this before the call, the intel portion drops from 15 min to 5 min.
Tell them EXACTLY what to have ready:
Include Avalanche's BM ID in the email so if they want to add you before the call, they can. Format: "When we're on the Zoom, I'll walk you through adding Avalanche's Business Manager as a partner on your Facebook Page. Our BM ID is [YOUR-BM-ID-HERE]."
Find it business.facebook.com → Settings → Business Info → top left shows your Business Manager ID (looks like a long number)
Phase: Business intel (first 15 min). Walk through the intake, ask any missing questions, confirm qualification criteria. Get to know their business enough to configure Zuops' AI auto-reply and nurture sequence.
Phase: Meta access grant. Here's the exact sequence · say it out loud, share your own screen first to demo, then have them share theirs.
Have them log in with the account that admins their Facebook Page. If they don't have a Meta Business Manager yet (many small contractors don't), they'll be prompted to create one · takes 90 seconds. Name it their business name. Done.
In Business Manager → Settings (gear icon, bottom left) → Business Assets → Pages → Add → Add a Page. They type in their page name or URL. Meta may require a confirmation step from their personal Facebook account.
In Business Manager → Settings → Users → Partners → Add → "Give a partner access to your assets". Enter Avalanche's BM ID (the one you sent in prep email). Meta asks which asset to share access to · they pick their Facebook Page. Set permissions to "Manage Page" and "Ads Permissions" (both toggled on). Click Save.
This is the one people miss and then wonder why leads aren't flowing. In Business Manager → All Tools (nine dots menu) → Leads Access (or search "Leads Access" in the top search bar) → find their Page → assign your Avalanche BM as an authorized partner for leads on that Page.
Critical Without this step, form submissions from your lead ads will pile up inside the client's Facebook Page and never reach Zuops. This is a silent failure · you won't get an error, leads just don't come through.
If they have an Instagram business account, in Business Manager → Business Assets → Instagram Accounts → Add. Then repeat the Partner access flow so Avalanche can run ads on IG placements too. Skips if they don't have IG · not a dealbreaker.
Open your OWN Business Manager in another tab (or after the call). Go to Partners section · verify their business appears · verify you see their Page in your assets list. If yes, you're good. If no, walk back through Step 3 with them still on the call.
Before ending the Zoom, confirm all three checkboxes yourself: (1) Their Page shows in your BM's shared assets. (2) You have Ads permission (test by trying to create a draft ad · you don't have to publish it). (3) Leads Access is granted for their Page. All three green? End the call. Any red? Fix now.
Last 10 min of the call. This is what stops "where are my leads?!" panic texts on Day 2.
Here's what's on YOUR side vs THEIR side of the Speed Launch build. This is what makes the kill switch work later · everything on the left is yours to control.
Two clean options:
My recommendation: Option A for Speed Launch (the $497 is a smaller commitment, easier to bundle ad spend into a "trial package price"), Option B for Growth (bigger monthly ad spend, cleaner if it's on their card).
Every client gets a fresh phone number bought inside Zuops, assigned to their sub-account. Not your personal number. Not their real business number. A dedicated Zuops-provisioned number in their local area code (a Long Island contractor gets a 631 or 516 number · never a random area code · converts way better).
Why this setup:
Inventory tip: Keep 10-15 numbers active in your Zuops pool at any time (across the area codes you commonly serve). That way a new Speed Launch can go live same-day without waiting on Zuops number provisioning. Numbers are only a couple bucks each · cheap insurance against delay.
Assume kickoff Zoom is at 11am. Here's the rest of your Day 1.
Kickoff Zoom. Intake, Meta access grant, expectations set. Access confirmed before hanging up.
Post-call notes + Zuops sub-account. Spin up a new sub-account in Zuops for the client. Import their intake data. Buy or assign a fresh Zuops phone number in the client's local area code. Send them Zuops login credentials via email.
Landing page build. Pull the vertical template from your library (Water Treatment / HVAC / Roofing / Gutter / etc). Swap in their logo, photos, service area copy, offer wording. Install Meta Pixel. Publish to a subdomain of avalancheacquisitions.com (like [clientname].avalancheacquisitions.com) or a dedicated domain if they have one.
Meta campaign build. In your ad account: create Lead Gen campaign, targeting client's service area zip codes, run branded as their Facebook Page, pull creative from vertical library (usually 4 variants), point to the LP you just built. Set daily budget (typically $30-60/day for trial). Add tracking. Publish to Meta review.
End-to-end test. Submit a test lead through the LP or Smart Form. Verify it lands in Zuops. Verify Zuops AI auto-reply fires. Verify the calendar/arrival window booking works. Verify SMS notifications hit the client's phone. If anything breaks, fix it.
Send "You're live" email to client. "Everything is built and submitted to Meta for review. Ads will be live within 24 hours. First leads typically arrive within 24-48 hours after that. Your Zuops dashboard is [link]. I'll check in on Day 3."
| Day | What you do | What client sees |
|---|---|---|
| Day 2 | Confirm ads passed Meta review, went live. Monitor early metrics. | First impressions rolling in. Maybe first lead. |
| Day 3 | Check-in text: "Ads have been live 24hrs, seeing X impressions and Y leads. On track." | Feels informed. Reassured we're paying attention. |
| Days 4-6 | Monitor daily. Kill underperforming ad variants. Let Meta learn. | Leads trickling in. Zuops AI booking appointments. |
| Day 7 | Midpoint report: "Week 1 recap · X leads, Y appointments booked, ad spend $Z, cost per lead $A." | Sees real numbers. Starts feeling the ROI. |
| Days 8-11 | Continue monitoring. Note any qualification issues to address on conversion call. | Running appointments from booked leads. |
| Day 12 | Chris preps for conversion call. Reviews client's dashboard data. | Nothing new · normal flow. |
| Day 13 | Chris sends: "Your trial wraps in 2 days · let's talk about what's next. Grab a time here: [link]." | Gets the conversion call invite. |
| Day 14 | Chris runs conversion call. Two outcomes: they sign Growth, or the kill switch fires tomorrow. | Makes the decision. |
The client should feel like magic is happening. They should never touch Meta, never see the ad account, never worry about the pixel, never manage a budget. Their entire experience is: "Text pings, appointment shows up on my calendar, I run the estimate." That's it. If they ever ask you a technical question about Meta, your answer is "don't worry about it, that's on our side."
Kill switch fires Day 15, 8am, if the conversion call on Day 14 didn't result in a signed Growth agreement. You have 8 assets to shut down, one communication sequence to send, and one reactivation funnel to set up.
Confirm with Chris that the conversion call actually happened and the answer was a real "no" (or a no-show). Do not fire the kill switch on someone who's still thinking about it or asked for 48 more hours. In that case, extend the trial by up to 3 days at your discretion and reschedule the close.
Kill switch activates. All 8 items above completed within the first hour.
Send exit email with lead export attached.
Reactivation touch 1. Short check-in. "How are the leads from the trial working out? Booked any of them yet?" No pitch · just curiosity. Opens the door.
Reactivation touch 2. Case study or social proof. "Just closed out a big month with [similar vertical] client · thought of you. Here's what we did." Soft pitch.
Reactivation touch 3. Direct offer. "Been 90 days · leads probably dried up. Want to restart? I'll waive the setup fee if you sign this week." Hard pitch, discount incentive.
Industry data suggests 15-25% of dead trials reactivate within 90 days with the right drip. At 10 trials/month with a 40% immediate conversion rate, that's 6 dead trials/month. 15-25% reactivation = 1 to 1.5 extra clients/month you would've written off. At $997 Standard MRR, that's $1,000-$1,500/mo in reactivation revenue that comes from having a kill switch protocol, not from having no exit at all.
What happens if they reach out on Day 16 or Day 20 saying "wait, I want to keep going"?
No formal grace period · but if they reach out within 14 days, quietly turn everything back on with a paid setup fee ($497 Standard or $1,497 Premium). Don't advertise this. If you advertise it, it becomes "well I'll just wait a week." If they just find out organically that they can come back, it feels generous · and you still get paid.
Some contractors have a page that Facebook auto-generated from business listings but they never claimed. Symptoms: they can see the page exists but can't add it to their BM.
Fix on the call: Walk them through page claim process (facebook.com/pages/create → "Claim a Page"). Requires proof of business ownership (utility bill or business license). Can take 24-48 hours for Meta to verify. If this happens, extend the trial start date to when access is granted · don't count the delay against them.
Very common with older business owners who set up the page years ago and forgot.
Fix on the call: Do password recovery live via email or phone number. If both are dead, they may need to go through Meta's "prove you own this account" flow, which takes 24-72 hours. Same as above · extend the trial start date.
Common in trade services with "before/after" creative (violates personal attributes policy) or claims like "guaranteed leads."
Fix: Have 2-3 backup creative variants ready per vertical. If one rejects, swap in a compliant version within 2 hours. Never use "guarantee" or "results" language in ad copy · save that for landing page.
99% of the time this is because Leads Access wasn't granted properly. See Step 4 of the Kickoff Zoom.
Fix: Go back to Meta Business Manager → Leads Access → verify Avalanche is an authorized partner for the client's Page. If not, have client re-grant. If yes, check Zuops webhook configuration.
Rare but happens if a client gets antsy and wants to "see the numbers themselves."
Fix: Reframe. "Nothing is running on your Meta account · we run it from our infrastructure so you don't have to touch anything. Here's your Zuops dashboard which shows all the lead data in real time · that's your view into what's happening." Redirect them to Zuops. Never grant them access to your ad account or BM.
